Tether MDK announces support from 15 companies for mining automation

Tether has announced support from 15 mining and infrastructure companies for its open-source Mining Development Kit. MDK aims to help manage different hardware and pools through common automation tools.

Bitcoin-mining facilities combine devices, pool connections and management software. Tether’s MDK approach aims to provide a development framework that makes communication and automation across those components easier. Its open-source structure allows developers to examine the tools and adapt them to their own workflows.

Components called MDK Workers are positioned as interoperable pieces of software for different tasks. The intention is to develop automation without depending solely on one hardware family or closed management interface. That architectural goal does not mean every device delivers the same result without configuration.

Support across hardware and pool providers

The announcement names ACME Swisstech, Bitdeer, BITMAIN, Canaan, Elektron, EMCD, F2Pool, Foundry, Heatbit, Luxor, MicroBT, OCEAN, Proto, SpiderPool and Stratum V2. The list spans device manufacturers, software providers and mining-pool participants. Their stated support should not be interpreted as identical integration being available across every product on the same day.

Tether argues that interoperability can reduce management complexity. Device monitoring, automated processes and consistent handling of information from separate components are potential applications. Security, permissions and testing remain responsibilities specific to each deployment.

AI tools and the release schedule

The company also points to QVAC-based agents being used with MDK. AI-assisted automation here concerns software management of operational tasks, rather than a mechanism guaranteeing mining income or hardware profitability.

MDK version 0.11 is associated with the Plan B Forum held on 23–24 October. The stated target for stable version 1.0 is the end of 2026, indicating that development continues. An open-source management tool does not remove the economic variables of mining, including electricity costs, network conditions and hardware efficiency.
