Rönesans and Digital Realty plan data-centre investment starting in Ankara
The partnership between Rönesans Infrastructure and Digital Realty aims to develop new data-centre campuses in Türkiye. The first phase at Ankara Temelli is planned to provide more than 22 MW of IT capacity and begin operations in 2028.
First campus at Ankara Temelli

The announced joint venture will develop and operate cloud- and carrier-neutral data centres. Rönesans’ 1 October release says construction has started on the first phase at Ankara Temelli. Operations are targeted for 2028; the announcement does not describe a campus already running at full capacity.
The first phase is planned with more than 22 MW of IT capacity and over 10,000 square metres of white space. IT capacity relates to power for computing equipment, not total facility energy use or current occupancy. Carrier-neutral colocation is positioned for customers working with different connectivity and service providers.
Istanbul and longer-term targets
An Istanbul campus announcement is intended to follow Ankara. The longer-term ambition is 200 MW of IT capacity across the two cities and investment potential of up to $3 billion. These are not completed spending or capacity already in service.
Cloud services, AI applications, storage and connectivity are among the intended uses. The partners aim to serve Turkish businesses and public organisations alongside international providers. Local infrastructure is considered a way to bring content and applications closer to end users.
Global platform and local project experience

Digital Realty contributes its international data-centre platform and customer ecosystem. Rönesans highlights development, financing, engineering, construction and operating experience. Honorary Chairman Erman Ilıcak describes the venture as a continuation of connecting long-term capital and technology with projects in Türkiye.
Digital Realty’s Greg Wright emphasises meeting cloud, AI and enterprise-infrastructure demand. Timelines and capacity figures form parts of a phased investment plan. Construction progress, the start of services and subsequent phases remain distinct milestones.
