Enerjisa Üretim’s REDKA team expands from Ovacık to Harmancık wind farm

Enerjisa Üretim says women engineers and technicians trained through REDKA are taking responsibilities at Harmancık wind farm. Field experience gained at Ovacık is consequently being extended to another site.

Field experience becomes wider responsibility

REDKA, whose Turkish name refers to women turning wind into energy, aims to increase women’s participation in technical field roles. Enerjisa Üretim’s 12 October release says participants who completed technical training gained end-to-end operating experience at Ovacık wind farm.

Their responsibilities at Harmancık show that the programme extends beyond classroom instruction. The company is transferring operational knowledge and capability from Ovacık to another site. The announcement focuses on technical workforce development rather than introducing a new turbine technology.

Participation since 2023

The release states that 25 women engineers and technicians have joined since 2023. Eleven REDKA technicians entering in 2026 are continuing their training. These figures describe different stages; not every trainee should be assumed to have completed field responsibilities.

The Ovacık model involves a women-led team handling the plant’s operating processes. Expansion to Harmancık is described through experienced staff taking further career responsibilities. The figures are company programme data, not employment statistics for Türkiye’s entire energy sector.

Team culture and equal opportunity

Ayşegül Gürkale, Deputy General Manager for People and Culture, emphasises knowledge, expertise and teamwork alongside technology in shaping the energy sector. The company aims to support development through teams with complementary capabilities, presenting REDKA as a practical application of that approach.

The programme’s contribution comes from connecting training with real operational responsibility. New roles allow experience to be shared and participants to encounter different operations. The images show REDKA activities and the Harmancık site; the development reported is the expansion described in the October release.
