IAEC 2026 to discuss future mobility systems on 5 November

The 11th International Automotive Engineering Conference takes place at Sheraton Grand Istanbul Ataşehir on 5 November 2026. Its Future Mobility Systems theme brings together powertrains, autonomous driving and alternative energy.

IAEC 2026 is organised by OİB, OSD, OTEP and TAYSAD with SAE support. Prof. Dr. Zehra Yumurtacı, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Yıldız Technical University, chairs the conference. It aims to examine automotive transformation across different engineering disciplines.

The 5 November programme proceeds from registration and opening remarks to technical presentations. Since the event is forthcoming, this article reports its announced programme rather than completed proceedings. The organisers’ current schedule remains the reference for speakers and sessions.

Powertrains and autonomous driving

Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dinçer of Ontario Tech University is among the morning keynote speakers. The Advanced Powertrain Systems session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Kadir Aydın, includes Guillermo de Paz Alcolado, Dr. Matthias Holzer and Volker Ambrosius. Low-carbon fuels, hybrid systems and electric drives will be considered through different areas of expertise.

The autonomous-driving programme includes Prof. Dr. Gözde Bozdağı Akar, Sinan Öncü, Maxime François and Reza Vatankhah Barenji. The discussion therefore extends beyond changing energy sources to sensing, software and interaction between vehicle systems.

Alternative energy and industry participation

Ford Otosan’s Simon Curwood is among the afternoon keynote speakers. Mehmet Nurullah Ateş, Nurhan Üregen Güler, Onur Akkozak and Yasin Karagöz feature in the alternative-energy session. The programme brings the engineering aspects of different energy and propulsion approaches together.

Tofaş’s platinum sponsorship and infoTRON’s plaque sponsorship are also announced. Bringing academic and industry participants into one programme aims to connect research with application. Participation details and schedule changes can be followed on IAEC’s official website.
