Turkcell to support COP31 as a sector partner

Turkcell has announced that it will support the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP31 as a sector partner. The event is scheduled to take place in Antalya from 9 to 20 November 2026. The company also says it will contribute to COPArt, the conference’s official arts programme, as a Master Implementation Partner.

The announcement connects Turkcell’s participation with its sustainability work and its stated target of reaching net zero by 2050. Its contribution is presented as part of the wider discussion about how communications and digital technologies can support a transition to lower-carbon operations.

Renewable energy and efficiency on the agenda

COP31 will bring together public institutions, businesses, civil society and finance representatives to discuss action on climate change. Turkcell says it plans to use sessions during the conference to share its renewable energy investments, energy efficiency initiatives and work on the role of technology in the green transition.

The company describes digital transformation and the green transition as complementary processes. Its announcement highlights renewable energy, zero-waste projects and measures intended to reduce its carbon footprint. It does not provide new investment figures or detailed performance measurements for those initiatives.

A partnership linked to the 2050 target

Turkcell General Manager Dr. Ali Taha Koç said the company was proud to support a conference hosted by Türkiye. He said Turkcell was working to turn the opportunities offered by technology into practical gains in tackling climate change.

Koç linked the partnership to continued renewable energy investment, zero-waste initiatives and carbon footprint reduction work under the company’s 2050 net-zero target. He also described COP31 as an opportunity to advance shared goals and develop new partnerships.

The company’s announced role covers both participation in the climate conference and support for its official arts programme. The details released so far focus on those partnerships and on the sustainability topics Turkcell expects to discuss during the event.
