A New Era in Privileged Access Security from Kron Teknoloji

Kron Teknoloji has released version 3.9.0 of Kron PAM, introducing new capabilities to manage AI agents’ access to enterprise systems and critical resources.

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into business processes, AI agents can now connect to various applications, retrieve information, and independently perform certain operations. This development brings a new security question to the forefront for organizations: If an AI agent can access critical systems, who controls that access?

Version 3.9.0 of the Kron PAM platform introduces access management capabilities for AI agents through MCP (Model Context Protocol), along with enhancements to Just-in-Time (JIT) and temporary privileged access, as well as non-human identity management.

The New Users of Your Systems: AI Agents

Kron PAM 3.9.0 introduces new capabilities for managing access through MCP (Model Context Protocol), which enables AI agents to communicate securely with systems. This allows organizations to control which resources AI agents can access and monitor their activities. The new release also enables security teams to access information and records stored in PAM using AI-powered tools. As a result, security teams can leverage AI when reviewing access permissions and investigating potential security incidents.

Erhan Yılmaz, Director of PAM Product Management at Kron Teknoloji, commented on the new release:

“AI agents are now actively performing tasks within organizations’ critical systems, and the privileges granted to them are just as critical as those assigned to a system administrator. With Kron PAM 3.9, we manage and audit all identities—whether human, machine, or AI agent—under a single framework and according to the same policies. Through the Just-in-Time Access approach, we grant privileges only when they are needed and for as long as they are required, rather than assigning them permanently. This enables organizations to maintain control over who or what accesses critical systems and which privileges they use.”

Access Only When Needed, for Only as Long as Necessary

Keeping access privileges to critical systems permanently enabled can pose a significant security risk.

With Kron PAM 3.9.0, organizations can use Just-in-Time (JIT) access to grant employees and systems temporary elevated privileges only when needed and for the required duration, rather than assigning privileged access permanently. For example, if an employee needs access to a server to perform a specific task, access is granted immediately before the task begins and revoked once it is completed. This approach helps reduce the number of permanently enabled, highly privileged accounts while ensuring tighter control over access to critical systems.

Controlled Access for Non-Human Identities

Today, enterprise environments can contain thousands of applications, services, and automated software processes. Many of these have their own digital identities and credentials to access systems. These are known as Non-Human Identities (NHIs).

Kron PAM enables organizations to manage these identities securely. The credentials used by applications, services, machines, and AI systems can be managed centrally, making it possible to track which systems have access to which resources. This allows organizations to answer not only the question, “Which employees can access which systems?” but also, “Which application, machine, or AI agent can access which systems?”

Bringing Human, Machine, and AI Access Under a Unified Security Framework

In addition to its existing capabilities—including secure password storage, privileged account management, multi-factor authentication, secure remote access, and session monitoring—Kron PAM 3.9.0 introduces new capabilities for managing AI agent access. The release also includes enhancements to Just-in-Time (JIT) access, temporary privileged access, and non-human identity management.

With this new release, Kron Teknoloji enables organizations to control different types of access to critical systems from a centralized platform.

In the new digital landscape, the question is no longer simply, “Who is accessing the system?” It is also: Which person, machine, application, or AI agent is accessing which resource, when, and with what level of privilege? And are all these access activities under control?

Kron PAM 3.9.0 enables organizations to address these questions through a single security platform.
