Roborock Flow Series: Roller Mop Technology
As mopping technologies in robot vacuums continue to advance, how clean the mop remains during cleaning has become another factor influencing performance. Roborock’s Flow Series features roller mop technology that continuously supplies the mop with clean water while collecting dirty water in a separate tank. Used in the Qrevo Curv 2 Flow, Qrevo Edge 2 Flow and Saros 20 Flow models, the system helps prevent the mop from continuing to clean with dirt accumulated on its surface, helping maintain mopping performance throughout the cleaning process, particularly when dealing with everyday messes such as kitchen stains and muddy paw prints.
Roborock, a global leader in smart home technologies, is introducing a different approach to mopping in robot vacuums with the roller mop technology featured in its Flow Series. For everyday messes such as spilled coffee or sauce in the kitchen, footprints in the hallway, or muddy paw prints brought indoors after a rainy day, it is not just the mop’s contact with the floor that matters, but also its ability to remain clean throughout the cleaning process.
Roborock’s SpiraFlow™ system addresses this need. The continuously rotating roller mop is supplied with clean water during cleaning, while accumulated dirt and dirty water are separated from the system. This allows the mop surface to refresh itself throughout the cleaning process as the robot moves on to the next area.
The working principle behind the roller mop also addresses a fundamental question about mopping with robot vacuums: How does the mop continue cleaning after it gets dirty? By keeping clean and dirty water separate, the system helps prevent the mop from transferring the dirt it collects to other areas of the floor.
Adapting to Different Floor-Cleaning Needs, from Everyday Stains to Edges
The advantages of roller mop technology become particularly apparent when dealing with common everyday stains. In the Flow Series, the roller mop is designed to meet more than just the cleaning needs of hard floors. When the robot moves onto a carpet, the roller mop lifts to help prevent the wet mop from coming into contact with the carpet. This allows hard-floor mopping and carpet vacuuming to be managed within the same cleaning routine.
Edges and corners are another focus of the roller mop system. The edge-adaptive roller design allows the robot to approach walls and furniture to within less than 10 mm, expanding the area the mop can reach.*
One Technology, Different Cleaning Needs
While the Qrevo Curv 2 Flow, Qrevo Edge 2 Flow and Saros 20 Flow share the same core roller mop technology, they offer options for different household needs through variations in suction power, docking station features, body design and maneuverability.
The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow combines the SpiraFlow™ roller mop system with 20,000 Pa HyperForce® suction power and the Dual Anti-Tangle System. The roller, supplied with clean water through eight water outlets, rotates at up to 220 revolutions per minute. Its multifunctional dock washes the mop with hot water at temperatures of up to 75°C and dries it with hot air at 55°C. The automatic dust-emptying system can also reduce the need for manual emptying for up to 65 days, depending on usage conditions.
The Qrevo Edge 2 Flow combines the SpiraFlow™ 2.0 system with 35,000 Pa HyperForce® suction power and a slim body measuring 8.98 cm in height. Its retractable RetractSense™ navigation system helps the robot access areas beneath low furniture, while its AI-powered floor and stain detection features support the adjustment of cleaning settings to suit different needs. Water control based on floor type can be enabled through the Roborock App.
The Saros 20 Flow combines the SpiraFlow™ 2.0 system with 36,000 Pa HyperForce® suction power, AdaptiLift™ Traverse 3.0 and VertiBeam™ Lateral Obstacle Avoidance technology. Measuring 8.98 cm in height, the model can cross double-layer thresholds of up to 8.8 cm under test conditions specified by Roborock. The new RockDock™ station washes the mop with hot water at temperatures of up to 100°C and dries it with hot air at 63°C. In addition, the robot’s built-in water tank is refilled with warm water, enabling mopping with warm water.
Managing Cleaning Routines Through the App or Voice Commands
The Flow Series’ mopping technologies work alongside the Roborock App and SmartPlan™ 3.0. Users can set cleaning schedules and room-specific preferences through the app, while also managing carpet cleaning and, on supported models, floor and stain detection features according to their needs. Supported voice-control features also allow users to manage cleaning routines using voice commands. Features that require manual activation are enabled according to the preferences users select in the app.
With these features, the Qrevo Curv 2 Flow, Qrevo Edge 2 Flow and Saros 20 Flow combine the same roller mop technology with capabilities designed to address different household environments, floor types and cleaning needs.
