Hyundai’s First Electric Vehicle Produced in İzmit, the IONIQ 3, Is Now on Sale
Hyundai Motor Türkiye is bringing the all-electric IONIQ 3, manufactured at its İzmit plant, to customers in Türkiye.
Available in four trim levels—Select, Trend, Prime, and N-Line EVO—the IONIQ 3 stands out with two battery options and a combined driving range of up to 482 km.
Featuring a new “Aero Hatch” design, a spacious interior, and the Pleos Connect infotainment system, the IONIQ 3 brings Hyundai’s electric mobility technologies to a compact body designed for everyday use.
Hyundai Motor Türkiye continues to expand its investments in electric mobility and broaden its product range. The new IONIQ 3, manufactured at the brand’s İzmit plant and eagerly anticipated by consumers, has gone on sale in Türkiye. The model also brings Hyundai’s global electric vehicle technology together with Türkiye’s manufacturing capabilities.
As Hyundai’s first fully electric model produced in Türkiye, the IONIQ 3 marks the beginning of a new era for the brand. Playing a significant role in the İzmit plant’s transition to electric vehicle production, the model stands as a tangible demonstration of Hyundai’s long-term investment in Türkiye and the country’s strategic position in automotive manufacturing.
Bringing the IONIQ family’s design, technology, and user-focused approach to the compact hatchback segment, the IONIQ 3 caters to a range of needs with its ease of use in urban environments, driving range options suitable for longer journeys, and spacious interior.
A Combination of Efficiency and Space with the “Aero Hatch” Design
The IONIQ 3 combines Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” design language with its new “Aero Hatch” body form. Inspired by the shaping of steel, this design approach creates a distinctive appearance through clean surfaces and defined lines.
The roofline flows smoothly from the front of the vehicle, extending to provide generous headroom for passengers before sloping toward the rear spoiler to create a dynamic silhouette. An aerodynamic drag coefficient of approximately 0.263 Cd supports the model’s efficiency. Pixel lighting, a signature feature of the IONIQ family, and the four-dot detail representing the letter “H” in Morse code complete its design identity. The N-Line EVO trim adds a more dynamic appearance with sporty details characteristic of Hyundai’s N Line design.
Compact Dimensions, Spacious Interior
The IONIQ 3 measures 4,155 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height. The N Line body design extends the vehicle’s length to 4,170 mm, while its 2,680 mm wheelbase and flat floor create a spacious environment for both front and rear passengers.
Designed around the “Living Space” concept, the interior arranges everyday-use areas to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Although the IONIQ 3 belongs to the B-segment in terms of exterior dimensions, it offers interior space comparable to that of a C-segment vehicle. An open center console and various storage solutions allow occupants to organize their personal belongings conveniently.
With a total luggage capacity of 441 liters, the vehicle accommodates a variety of needs, from family use to weekend trips. The 119-liter Megabox storage compartment beneath the luggage floor is included in this total and makes more efficient use of the available cargo space.
Two Battery Options, Four Trim Levels
Available in Türkiye in four trim levels—Select, Trend, Prime, and N-Line EVO—the IONIQ 3 offers two battery and motor configurations, allowing customers to choose according to their needs.
The Select trim features a 42.2 kWh LFP battery, delivering a combined driving range of 343 km. Its electric motor produces a maximum output of 107.8 kW (146.5 PS).
The Trend, Prime, and N-Line EVO trims are equipped with a 61 kWh NMC battery and an electric motor producing a maximum output of 99.5 kW (135.2 PS). Their combined driving ranges are 482 km for the Trend, 476 km for the Prime, and 435 km for the N-Line EVO.
Technical Specifications by Trim Level
| Trim | Battery | Maximum Power | Combined Range | 0–100 km/h |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Select | 42.2 kWh | 107.8 kW / 146.5 PS | 343 km | 8.7 sec |
| Trend | 61 kWh | 99.5 kW / 135.2 PS | 482 km | 9.5 sec |
| Prime | 61 kWh | 99.5 kW / 135.2 PS | 476 km | 9.5 sec |
| N-Line EVO | 61 kWh | 99.5 kW / 135.2 PS | 435 km | 9.6 sec |
Developed with a front-mounted electric motor and front-wheel drive, the IONIQ 3 delivers maximum torque of 250 Nm in both motor configurations. Its regenerative braking system recovers energy during deceleration, helping improve electric driving efficiency.
Charging Technologies Designed for Everyday Use
Built on the advanced technology of Hyundai Motor Group, the IONIQ 3 combines efficiency with charging performance through its 400-volt electrical architecture.
Under optimal conditions at compatible DC fast-charging stations, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 29 minutes for the 42.2 kWh version and approximately 30 minutes for the 61 kWh versions. The model range supports 11 kW AC charging, with an option for AC charging at up to 22 kW.
A New-Generation Digital Experience with Pleos Connect
The IONIQ 3 stands out as the first Hyundai model in Europe to feature the Pleos Connect infotainment system. Based on Android Automotive OS (AAOS), the system provides an intuitive interface for easy access to vehicle functions, navigation, and personalization options.
The model range offers 12.9-inch and 14.6-inch screen options, while essential driving information is displayed on a separate digital instrument cluster positioned within the driver’s field of vision. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support further enhance smartphone connectivity.
Hyundai Digital Key 2 enables users to access the vehicle and share digital keys using compatible smartphones. An integrated electric vehicle route planner also helps drivers plan charging stops during their journeys. The availability of these features varies depending on trim level and service configuration.
Bringing Vehicle Power into Everyday Life with V2L
The IONIQ 3’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology allows energy stored in the high-voltage battery to power compatible electrical devices. Depending on the trim, interior and exterior V2L solutions provide flexible options for powering devices such as laptops, electric bicycles, and camping equipment.
Advanced Driving Assistance with Hyundai SmartSense
The IONIQ 3 supports drivers in urban traffic and on longer journeys with Hyundai SmartSense safety and driver-assistance technologies. Depending on the trim level, available features include:
- Surround View Monitor (SVM)
- Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM)
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA 2)
- Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)
- Lane Following Assist 2 (LFA 2)
These systems help drivers monitor their surroundings more easily during everyday driving and parking maneuvers, supporting comfort and safety.
The Hyundai IONIQ 3 combines the manufacturing capabilities of İzmit with aerodynamic design, efficient electric driving, and user-focused technologies. Representing a new chapter in Hyundai’s manufacturing journey in Türkiye, the model brings the brand’s electrification vision to life in a vehicle tailored to everyday needs.
