Samsung is bringing art and cutting-edge technology together through an innovative art experience as the first-ever ART TV Partner of the 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul. Taking place at Tersane Istanbul from September 23–27, 2026, the fair will feature a specially designed Samsung experience space showcasing works by South Korean multidisciplinary artist Vakki, including an installation created exclusively for Samsung.
Samsung Electronics Türkiye is continuing its collaboration, which began with CI Bloom, at Contemporary Istanbul. Having participated as an ART TV Partner at CI Bloom, Samsung is returning in the same role for the 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul. At the fair, taking place at Tersane Istanbul from September 23–27, Samsung will bring together different display technologies from its Art TV family and contemporary artworks in a dedicated experience space that combines art and technology.
At Samsung’s dedicated experience space, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Art TV family, including The Frame, The Frame Pro, Micro RGB, and OLED TV models. Bringing Samsung’s diverse display technologies together with Vakki’s artistic approach, this special experience will also feature a digital artwork created exclusively for Samsung by the artist. With this initiative, Samsung is bringing its vision to Contemporary Istanbul, transforming the screen from a surface that simply displays artwork into an integral part of the artistic experience.
Visitors to Samsung’s experience space will have the opportunity to discover Vakki’s installation, explore the Samsung Art TV collection, and experience the extensive selection of artworks available through Samsung Art Store, which features more than 5,000 works from around the world. Visitors will also have the chance to create their own artworks as part of a special event titled Portrait of an Invisible Rhythm.

Ulaş Soytürk, Senior Sales and Marketing Director of the Audio and Visual Systems Group at Samsung Electronics Türkiye, said:
“We are extremely excited and delighted to participate as an ART TV Partner for the first time at the 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul. This year, our Samsung Art TV experience space will introduce art enthusiasts to Vakki’s distinctive creative world, alongside a variety of other artworks, offering them the opportunity to explore the special intersection of art and technology from a broader perspective. Being part of an important platform such as Contemporary Istanbul, which brings together different artistic disciplines and cultures, is extremely valuable to us.”
İbrahim Akdağ: “We Believe Art and Technology Can Create New Experiences Together”
İbrahim Akdağ, Marketing Director of the Audio and Visual Systems division at Samsung Electronics Türkiye, expressed his pleasure at participating as an ART TV Partner for the first time at the 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul.
“As Samsung Türkiye, being here as the ART TV Partner of Contemporary Istanbul this year is particularly meaningful to us. We believe technology is not merely a tool that makes our lives easier, but also a force that opens up new possibilities for life, design, and art.
“We are bringing together the different display technologies of our Samsung Art TV family with the distinctive works of South Korean artist Vakki. Here, we are not simply displaying artworks on our screens; we are demonstrating how the screen itself can become part of the artistic experience.
“As Samsung, guided by the vision that comes with being the world’s No. 1 TV brand for 20 years, we consider it extremely important to explore how technology and art can create new experiences together,” he said.
Artist Vakki added:
“Istanbul is a city where different cultures, the past and the present, and East and West intersect. For this reason, the work we are presenting at Contemporary Istanbul holds special meaning for me as an encounter between different worlds. Samsung’s display technology allows images to extend beyond the boundaries of the screen, interacting with the surrounding space through light, color, and movement. I would like to thank Samsung for this creative collaboration.”
Samsung Art TV: A New Space Where Art and Technology Meet
Samsung’s Art TV family brings together art, technology, and design to redefine the viewing experience. Key models in the portfolio include The Frame, which displays artworks when the television is not in use, and The Frame Pro, which takes this concept further with advanced display technology. Today, alongside The Frame and The Frame Pro, Samsung’s Art TV family also includes Micro RGB and OLED models, incorporating different display technologies into the artistic experience.
The approach pioneered by The Frame transforms the time when the television is not being used into an opportunity to experience art.
With Art Mode, the screen can display artworks whenever the television is not being used to watch content. Featuring a slim design and customizable bezels, The Frame goes beyond being an electronic device for viewing content and becomes a personal gallery within the living space.
The Frame Pro takes this concept further with technologies including a Neo QLED 4K display, an Anti-Reflection Matte Display that minimizes reflections, certified Quantum Dot technology, and Wireless One Connect, which eliminates cable clutter. These features help reproduce the colors, details, and contrast of artworks with high image quality.
Samsung’s various display technologies are designed to help viewers experience the colors, lighting, contrast, and details of artworks as accurately as possible. In Micro RGB technology, the independent control of red, green, and blue light sources enables precise management of color and brightness.
