LIGHT AND DEPTH COME TO LIFE ON SCREEN

Samsung and Artweeks Istanbul Collaborate on “No More Black Screen”

Held under the vision of Bilgili Sanat and with Kalebodur as the main sponsor, the “Collectors” Edition of Artweeks Istanbul features Samsung as its Art TV partner. This strategic collaboration, built around Samsung’s “No More Black Screen” philosophy, transforms the screen from a mere technological object into something more. The vision redefines screens as dynamic display surfaces that come alive and evolve through art.

As part of the “Collectors” Edition of Artweeks Istanbul, taking place from September 17 to November 8, 2026, selected video and digital artworks from the collections of Banu and Hakan Çarmıklı, Öner Kocabeyoğlu, and Tansa Mermerci are being presented to audiences on Samsung’s innovative displays. This exceptional selection features Ferhat Özgür’s Köçek Şaban, İz Öztat and Ann Antidote’s Suspend / Askıda, and İnci Eviner’s Reenactment of Heaven / Cenneti Sahnelemek, each offering a new viewing experience through Samsung technology. In addition, under its “No More Black Screen” vision, Samsung presents works by photographer Ziya Tacir in Building No. 38, offering audiences a fresh aesthetic perspective.

An Innovative Exhibition Experience with Merkur Gallery and Ziya Tacir

At a special exhibition hosted in Building No. 38 of Akaretler Sıraevler, a hub for culture, art, and the exchange of ideas, Samsung brings an innovative perspective to the presentation of video and digital artworks through its ART TV series.

In line with Samsung’s Art TV approach, displays from the Neo QLED, OLED, and The Frame ranges bring the works of renowned photographer Ziya Tacir to audiences. Developed in collaboration with Merkur Gallery, this special project features artworks that change at regular intervals throughout the exhibition, presenting an extensive selection of the artist’s work from different periods, including monochromatic compositions and iconic series.

Through his photographic practice, Ziya Tacir creates a distinctive, monumental visual language built around light, space, architectural details, symmetry, and layers of depth. He reinterprets the moments and monumental spaces captured within his frames through a fresh aesthetic perspective. His timeless approach opens new windows for viewers, giving them the freedom to create their own personal stories and narratives within the captivating universe of the image.

An Unlimited Art Experience That Challenges Traditional Perceptions of Screens

Samsung’s “No More Black Screen” philosophy challenges conventional perceptions of screens. With features such as high image quality, color accuracy, contrast, and reflection control, Samsung Art TV displays help reproduce artworks with exceptional realism. As a result, these screens become independent, evolving exhibition spaces that blend different periods and philosophical dimensions of photographic art with the spirit of their surroundings.

An essential part of the Samsung Art TV experience, Samsung Art Store currently brings together more than 5,000 artworks, over 800 artists, and more than 80 global partners. Its collection continues to expand through collaborations with leading cultural institutions around the world, including Tate, Art Basel, the British Museum, and the Louvre, making artworks accessible to wider audiences through the Samsung Art TV series.
