Sungrow’s Next-Generation Energy Storage System, PowerStack 255CS, Launches in Türkiye
Sungrow has introduced its next-generation liquid-cooled commercial and industrial energy storage system, PowerStack 255CS, to the Turkish market. Featuring 314 Ah battery cells, round-trip efficiency of over 90%, and a design life of up to 20 years, PowerStack 255CS offers a flexible and scalable energy storage solution for a range of applications, from commercial and industrial facilities to electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
As the energy transition accelerates, demand for commercial and industrial energy storage systems continues to grow. The increasing adoption of renewable energy and the high power requirements of electric vehicle charging infrastructure are making it increasingly important for businesses to manage energy as efficiently as they generate it.
Sungrow, one of the world’s leading providers of PV inverters and energy storage systems, has launched its next-generation PowerStack 255CS in Türkiye to address this growing demand in the commercial and industrial sectors. Designed with a focus on high efficiency, safety, and ease of installation, the new system helps businesses manage energy costs, increase renewable energy consumption, and strengthen energy security.
Scalable Energy Storage from 257 kWh to 6.4 MWh
Equipped with next-generation 314 Ah battery cells, PowerStack 255CS offers an energy storage capacity of 257 kWh in a two-hour system configuration and 514 kWh in a four-hour configuration, using a single cabinet. With round-trip efficiency (RTE) exceeding 90% and a design life of up to 20 years, the system is engineered for long-term operation.
Advanced liquid cooling technology and an AI-powered thermal management system analyze battery cell temperatures and operating conditions, dynamically adjusting cooling power as needed. This reduces auxiliary energy consumption by up to 33%, supporting system performance and energy efficiency.
Thanks to its modular design, PowerStack 255CS can be adapted to projects of different scales. Supporting up to 25 units operating in parallel, the system can be deployed in energy storage projects ranging from 257 kWh to approximately 6.4 MWh.
Compatible with Solar Power Plants and EV Charging Infrastructure
PowerStack 255CS supports a range of applications in Türkiye, including commercial and industrial facilities, solar power plant (SPP) and energy storage combinations, and electric vehicle charging and energy storage integrations.
For solar power applications, the system supports both AC- and DC-coupled architectures, helping businesses make more effective use of electricity generated from solar energy.
In electric vehicle charging applications, coordinated management of energy storage and charging infrastructure helps reduce the load that high-power charging operations place on existing electrical infrastructure. This also aims to limit the need for additional transformer capacity.
The system also supports standalone energy storage and microgrid applications. Its 100-millisecond response time and Sungrow’s grid-forming technology support energy management and system stability under varying grid conditions.
Integrated Design and Multi-Layered Safety
PowerStack 255CS integrates an Energy Management System (EMS), Power Conversion System (PCS), and Battery Management System (BMS) into a unified architecture. With components pre-installed and commissioned at the factory, the system helps reduce on-site installation time and implementation complexity.
The system also features cell anomaly detection, multi-stage overcurrent protection, early fire detection, and multi-layered fire prevention technologies. Compliant with international safety standards and frameworks, including UL 9540 and NFPA 855/69/68/14, PowerStack 255CS provides a multi-layered safety architecture extending from the cell level to the overall system.
