Tim Cook in Istanbul: First footage of the visit emerges
Apple Executive Chair Tim Cook has been filmed in Istanbul. A short video shared by technology publisher Erdi Özüağ on Sunday, November 8, 2026, offers an early glimpse of Cook’s visit to the city.
Erdi Özüağ shares footage from Istanbul
Özüağ posted the clip on X at 3:21 p.m. Turkish time with a brief message announcing that Cook was in Istanbul. The video shows Cook among visitors. It is an on-the-ground video rather than an official announcement setting out a visit itinerary.
Other details remain unconfirmed. At the time of writing, we had not found a verified statement explaining the full programme, any planned meetings or the length of Cook’s stay in Türkiye. The footage should therefore not be taken as evidence of a forthcoming product, investment or partnership announcement.
Cook’s current role is executive chair
His title is an important distinction in reporting this visit. Apple’s official leadership page identifies Cook as executive chair of its board and states that he served as CEO from 2011 to 2026. Describing this as a visit by Apple’s current CEO would be inaccurate.
Cook’s appearance is notable for Apple users in Türkiye, but his presence alone does not establish the commercial purpose or official agenda of the trip. The confirmed development is the new footage placing him in Istanbul; further details require separate verification.
