First day completed at Türkiye SKIL Enduro and ATV Championship

Motorsport action in the Black Sea highlands: the opening day of the Türkiye SKIL Enduro and ATV Championship has concluded in Senoz Valley, in the Çayeli district of Rize.

Bringing the Black Sea region’s distinctive landscape together with motorsport, the Türkiye SKIL Enduro and ATV Championship is being held for the second time in Senoz Valley in Rize’s Çayeli district. The opening races have concluded at the event, organised under the Discover Kaçkar umbrella in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Rize Governorate, Çayeli District Governorate and the Turkish Motorcycle Federation.

The event features 102 enduro riders, including four women and three competitors from Georgia, alongside 20 ATV riders. The 122 competitors started across 13 classes: EnduroGP, E1, E2, E3, E1B, E2B, E3B, EC, Veteran, Women, Youth, ATV1 and ATV2. They are tackling challenging courses over the two-day competition. The first day brought exciting, adrenaline-filled racing.

Close competition in Senoz Valley

Riders demonstrated their technical skills, speed and endurance on courses set in the Black Sea region’s distinctive landscape as they competed for the top places. Senoz Valley’s lush forests, high mountains and striking plateau scenery accompany the athletes as they negotiate the demanding terrain. Spectators are experiencing both the sporting contest and the beauty of the valley.

The first day took place on a 1.2-kilometre extreme course. Natural obstacles including earth, water, rocks and mud tested the competitors’ speed and endurance. According to the organisers’ press release, live broadcasts of the Türkiye ATV and Enduro Championship reached millions of viewers. That audience figure is a claim made by the organisers. Racing will conclude on Sunday, 8 November, with a 52-kilometre forest and stream stage at Uzundere.

Year-round sport and tourism in Rize with Discover Kaçkar

Holding the Türkiye SKIL Enduro and ATV Championship under the Discover Kaçkar umbrella for the second time this year strengthens Rize’s place on the national motorsport calendar. The event also aims to make another significant contribution to promoting Çayeli and Senoz Valley as sports tourism destinations.

The championship is one of the events introduced in line with the goals set at the Rize Sports Tourism Workshop, held in 2023 under the theme “Rize: A Brand City in Sports Tourism.” It continues to support Rize’s vision of becoming a recognised sports tourism destination throughout all 12 months of the year.
